    • Pinterest has added a new ‘Shop Tab’ within its Lens visual search results, to make it easier to find buyable items based on an image. You can either take a new photo, or upload a screenshot, or even an older image from your camera roll and you will see a “Shop” tab with a feed of shopable Pins. Each product Pin links directly to the checkout page on the retailer’s site. Read more on how to shop with your camera here.


  • Instagram is testing a new way to view your messages in your Instagram direct inbox. The function is part of Facebook’s plan of the cross-messaging between Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp platforms.
  • Instagram is also testing a new recommendations listings that appear within the main feed with selected users, with separate tabs for ‘Suggested’ and ‘Older’ posts. The ‘Older’ listing takes you back to posts that you’ve already seen or see suggestions in the ‘Suggested’ folder
  • You may also now need to have permission to embed Instagram posts on your page due to copyright laws. Publishers need explicit permission from creators to embed their posts,


  • Facebook is testing a new sticker called ‘Plans’ that you can use to schedule an online meet-up, that may link into Facebook’s new Rooms offering. You can add a date, info on how your Stories viewers can join the meet-up. Your Stories viewers can see who has registered interest in attending the event.
  • Facebook has launched a new email marketing tools from your Facebook page to help you connect with your audience. Let me know if you would like me to do an instructional video on how to use this by following me on Facebook @cariawatt and sending me a Direct Message.
  • Facebook updates controls over the posts and content on your profile so you can now bulk archive or delete updates and images from your past. It’s called ‘Manage Activity’ to help you archive or trash old posts, all in one place. Posts will be held in the trash for 30 days before being deleted, in case you want to restore them.
  • Facebook has added  new explanatory notes on Pages, posts and ads that have been published by state-controlled media outlets to see if a publication is under the influence of a the government.
  • Facebook has published its Coordinated Inauthentic Behaviour report for May, that outlines accounts, pages and groups the platform has removed due to being identified as misleading and have misinformation.
  • Facebook has made its photo and video transfer tool available in all regions. This means you can copy your Facebook photos and videos over to Google.



  • Twitter has been fixing issues with its API that has seen links shared within WhatsApp that have not been rendering correctly within WhatsApp chats.


  • YouTube is adding a new ‘Live Alerts for Merch’ feature, that highlights sales made though Teespring, within your live-stream comments thread.


  • Snapchat is making its ‘Dynamic Ads’ option available in more regions, namely Australia, the U.K., Germany, and the Middle East. The Dynamic ads means businesses can create simple Snap ad campaigns by uploading their product catalog


  • LinkedIn is offering free courses on diversity and inclusion in its’ response to #BlackLivesMatter on how to best address these key issues. You can find the inside the LinkedIn Learning “Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging for All” stream.
